Exploration firm Kavango Resources has completed its drilling program at Prospect 3 at the Hillside Gold Project in Zimbabwe’s Matabeleland province. The drilling campaign has confirmed the presence of gold deposits beneath artisanal miners’ surface workings.

The campaign comprised 34 diamond drill holes, totaling 2,109.16 meters, with an average depth of 60 meters. The company is also providing data to commence assay analysis, metallurgical and geotechnical testing and the development of a mining plan.

Testing will include investigating the potential of an open pit bulk mining and future underground mechanized mining at Prospect 3, with results set for release in April, 2025.

“We have high hopes for our Hillside Gold Project and, if we are able to prove there is a minable resource at Prospect 3, we aim to bring that into production this year,” stated Ben Turney, Chief Executive, Kavango Resources.
