U.S service company Weatherford has resumed operations in Libya after more than ten years, establishing its new headquarters in the Hay Al-Andalus area of Tripoli.
Richard Ward, Deputy CEO, Weatherford, confirmed the resumption during a meeting with Masoud Suleiman, Chairman, National Oil Corporation (NOC) on May 6. Weatherford is prepared to deliver its services directly from the field, with initial operations set to begin at the Jalu 59 site. The meeting with NOC leadership marks a significant step in Weatherford’s efforts to re-establish its presence in Libya’s energy industry.
Ward emphasized the company’s commitment to re-engage with Libyan oil companies and expressed readiness to support the country’s oil sector.
“We are fully prepared to deliver our services directly from the field, with initial operations set to begin at the Jalu 59 site,” he said.
