Algeria’s state-owned oil and gas company Sonatrach and exploration company Occidental Petroleum have signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to enhance collaboration in the hydrocarbon sector.
The first MoU establishes a framework for exploring potential cooperation in the development of carbonate reservoirs. The second MoU focuses on the implementation of enhanced oil recovery techniques to optimize production and improve recovery rates.
This strategic partnership builds on ongoing collaboration between the two companies in the development of the Berkine contract area, alongside partners Eni and TotalEnergies.
