Algeria’s state-owned oil company Sonatrach has signed a Term Sheet Agreement with Omani oil and gas services provider Abraj Energy Services to form a joint venture (JV). The JV will specialize in drilling, well services and integrated project management.
The agreement – signed on May 6 in Algiers – aims to strengthen cooperation in the energy services sector, while enhancing economic ties between Algeria and Oman. Beyond energy services, the agreement will support knowledge transfer and expertise sharing.
The Term Sheet agreement comes after the signing of an MoU between Sonatrach and Abraj Energy Services in April 2024 to create new business opportunities and foster integrated project management in the oil and gas services sector between Oman and Algeria.
