The initiative will see 5G towers in Freetown powered by solar PV, battery and hybrid systems.

The program features the development of 35 mini-grids to provide power to over 70,000 people.

By harnessing local resources, these initiatives not only support sustainable energy goals but also stimulate economic growth and industrialization.

The agreement allocates €86 million towards the ACWA Power 1 and 2 wind farms and €32 million towards establishing 25 technology schools and training centers in Egypt.

The plant will contribute to Senegal’s target of raising the share of renewable energy in its electricity mix to 40% by 2030.

The 2025 investment plan prioritizes connecting farms, industrial zones, remote regions and seawater desalination plants to the national power grid.
