South Africa;s National Oil Company PetroSA is expanding its footprint across Africa through partnerships in the upstream and downstream sectors, according to Sandisiwe Ncemane, General Manager: Gas Commercialization & Aggregation at the Central Energy Fund, in Cape Town this week.
In addition to new investments made to enhance production in the Jubilee South East Project offshore Ghana – where the firm holds a share – PetroSA is investing in the downstream business in Namibia and Botswana, Ncemane said.
“The African oil and gas market remains untapped, and lucrative prospects continue to emerge. Looking at the opportunities, I would not strike off PetroSA making new investments across the continent,” stated Ncemane.
She noted that the company is exploring upstream prospects in South Sudan and Angola.
