With one month left until Angola’s premier industry event returns, international investors, Angolan policymakers and regional operators are preparing to make their way to Luanda for the biggest edition of Angola Oil & gas (AOG) yet. Taking place on the eve of the country’s 50 years of independence celebration, AOG 2025 – held under the theme Angola at 50: Oil and Gas as a Development Driver – will examine how the lessons of the last five decades will shape the next 50 years of oil and gas growth in Angola.
This year’s edition will be officially opened by João Lourenço, President of the Republic of Angola, who will set the stage for the two-day event. Diamantino Azevedo, Angola’s Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas, will lead discussions and is joined by hydrocarbon and energy minister from Namibia, Gabon and APPO. Angola’s upstream and downstream regulators – the ANPG and IRDP – are participating as well as the national oil company Sonangol and global energy authorities such as the African Energy Chamber, ARDA and CITAC.
AOG 2025 also features the participation of leading international operators, with headliners including Murray Auchincloss, CEO of bp, Claudio Descalzi, CEO of Eni, Adriano Mongini and Mike Sangster, SVP: Africa at TotalEnergies. Independent operators include Corcel, ReconAfrica, Afentra, Sintana Energy, FIRST E&P, Alfort Petroleum, Panoro Energy, Etu Energias, and more have joined as well as major players such as ExxonMobil, Petronas, Shell and Chevron. Leading service providers are speaking, including NOV, KAESO Energy Services, Cabship, Trafigura, FAMAR, Bosch and Emerson, while financial and legal institutions including Africa Finance Corporation, KPMG, CLG, EY, BODIVA and more will lead discussions.
AOG 2025 offers an expanded program, catering towards the entire oil and gas value chain in Angola. The program is split across three primary tracks, including a Strategic Track, a Technical Track and a Deals & Showcases Track. These tracks – hosted across the two-day main conference – cover a variety of strategic topics, from frontier exploration and incremental production to onshore drilling and seismic acquisition. Sessions will also cover downstream advancements and local content progress as well as financing, technology solutions, STEM, trade and more. Preceding the event will be a pre-conference program, featuring presentations and workshops led by industry experts.
This year’s edition also features an exhibition – bigger and better than ever before. The exhibition showcases the best of what Angola oil and gas has to offer, with companies demonstrating innovative technologies, services and expertise. AOG 2025 offers a dedicated expo-only pass, offering strategic access to the exhibition floor. A series of networking functions will facilitate engagement and dealmaking while the AOG 2025 Gala Dinner and Awards ceremony will celebrate movers and shakers across the industry.
