Global technology company Oceaneering has secured a multi-year contract by energy major bp for works related to the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim field, offshore Mauritania and Senegal.
Under the terms of the contract Oceaneering’s Offshore Projects Group will provide subsea inspection; maintenance and repair services; as well as remotely operated vehicle services at the field. The company will also spearhead project management, engineering and integration services, utilizing one of its multi-purpose vessels.
“Oceaneering has a track record of safely providing inspection, maintenance and repair solutions globally. We believe that our expertise in delivering high-quality subsea solutions in harsh environments, utilizing our advanced products and services, was a key element to winning this contract,” stated Ben Laura, COO, Oceaneering.
The contract is valid for three years – with an opportunity to extend by another two years –, with the engineering and pre-mobilization activities already underway. Field operations will kick-off in Q2, 2025.
Situated on the marine border of Senegal and Mauritania, the GTA field shipped its first LNG cargo in April 2025. The first phase of the project has a capacity to produce 2.4 million tons of LNG, representing the first major gas project in the MSGBC region.
