Nigeria’s Dangote Refinery has announced plans to roll out a nationwide distribution network for premium motor spirit across Nigeria, targeting fuel marketers, petrol stations, manufacturers, telecom companies, the aviation sector and other high-demand users.
To support the initiative, the company has acquired 4,000 new compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered tankers and is developing CNG infrastructure nationwide. This will be further supported by a fleet of over 100 additional CNG tankers.
“This strategic program is part of our broader commitment to eliminating logistics costs, enhancing energy efficiency, promoting sustainability and supporting Nigeria’s economic development,” the company said in a statement.
As part of the program, the Dangote Refinery will offer credit support for bulk buyers. Customers purchasing a minimum of 500,000 liters will be eligible to receive an additional 500,000 liters on credit for two weeks, backed by a bank guarantee.
The initiative is expected to stimulate job creation, support SMEs and improve fuel access in rural and underserved areas.
Implementation is scheduled to begin on August 15, 2025.
