Energy infrastructure company New Fortress Energy (NFE) has signed a five-year agreement with Egypt’s state-owned Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) for the deployment of the Energos Winter floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU). The vessel will operate at EGAS’ LNG import terminal in Damietta.
The Energos Winter will be the second FSRU operated by New Fortress Energy in Egypt, joining the Energos Eskimo – a 160,000 m3 unit stationed at Ain Sokhna under a 10-year contract set to begin in August.
“We are pleased to reinforce our relationship with EGAS by way of our deployment of a second FSRU to Egypt” stated Chris Guinta, Chief Financial Officer, New Fortress Energy, adding, “This deal enhances NFE’s goal of providing reliable and cost-effective energy across the globe.”
The vessel will be deployed and operated under NFE’s subsidiary Energos Infrastructures.
