BW Energy is set to drill a new gas well at its Petroleum Production License 003 in Namibia between September and October 2025. The announcement was made by Manfriedt Muundjua, Deputy General Manager of BW Kudu, at the Namibia International Energy Conference.

The upcoming drilling forms part of a broader exploration campaign aimed at advancing the Kudu gas project’s full potential. According to Muundjua, the company has already procured the necessary drilling equipment, which is expected to be delivered by June. A second well is slated for early 2026.

“At Kudu, we already have the historical gas-to-power project built on existing resources of 1.3 trillion cubic feet. Two years ago, we tasked our geologists with finding additional resources across the block,” said Muundjua.

The drilling campaign follows BW Energy’s acquisition of approximately 5,000 square-kilometers of 3D seismic data to support ongoing exploration at Kudu.
