Libya’s Ministry of Oil and Gas has held high-level talks with energy major Shell to discuss new partnership opportunities in the country’s energy sector.

According to an official statement, Libya’s Minister of Oil and Gas Khalifa Rajab Abdulsadek met with a senior Shell delegation to review potential areas of cooperation and investment. During the talks, Minister Abdulsadek emphasized the importance of developing Libya’s oil and gas fields, increasing output and leveraging global expertise to transfer advanced technologies to the country.

These efforts, the Ministry noted, are essential to ensuring long-term economic stability and optimizing the use of national resources. Potential partnership opportunities will focus on exploration, production and strategic collaboration.

The meeting underlined Libya’s openness to working with major international energy companies to boost production and modernize operations.

The Shell delegation included Andrew Smith, Head of Trading; Eugene Oakberry, Executive Vice President for Exploration and Portfolio; Tomas Gerges, Head of Corporate Relations for the Middle East and North Africa; Tarek El Hassan, General Manager of Trading; and Alex Batalia, Director of Business Development.
