
Komatsu Provides Second AC Rope Shovel to SNIM

Mining equipment provider Komatsu has delivered a second P&H 2800XPC-AC rope shovel to Mauritania’s state-owned Société Nationale Industrielle et Minière (SNIM), representing the introduction of Komatsu AC technology to North Africa.
SNIM is currently undergoing equipment upgrades with the aim of significantly increasing its iron ore production from 12 to 40 million tons by 2025.
In January 2024, SNIM partnered with international mining equipment provider TAKRAF Group,to supply a comprehensive iron ore crushing, screening, and material handling system, along with a train loading station for the F’Derick project in Mauritania.
