Diversified metals producer Jubilee Metals has entered a long-term feedstock supply agreement at its Roan concentrator in Zambia.
Announced as part of a project update for its operations in Zambia, the agreement comes after the successful processing trials of high-grade shallow transition copper ore. Production under the new supply agreement commenced this week.
“The trials over the past eight weeks have affirmed Roan’s unique capabilities to process transitional copper reefs which are available in vast quantities both at surface and in near surface mining operations,” stated Leon Coetzer, CEO, Jubilee Metals.
Jubilee Metals confirmed the Roan concentrator will maintain a run-of-mine (ROM) throughput of 35,000-40,000 tons per month and yield between 240 and 360 tons of copper units per month. The ore – previously deemed waste due to its complex nature – averaged grades of 1.4% high-grade copper with recoveries of approximately 65%.
As part of the project update, Jubilee Metals also indicated it is targeting an increase in high-grade ROM delivery from the Munkoyo mine to its Sable refinery from 4,500 tons in June to 8,500 tons by October 2025. The company is also progressing pilot trials and preparing to implement two modular 30,000-ton-per-month processing units for on-site low-grade ore treatment.
Additionally, Jubilee Metals’ Project G is scheduled to commence drilling in June and may collaborate on a central processing facility with nearby operators. Infrastructure is already in place, supporting the company’s rapid implementation model. Jubilee Metals has also sold a non-core waste asset for $12.3 million as part of its capital-efficient strategy to fund growth and sharpen operational focus.
