
Insights on Renewable Energy in Mozambique

Africa Oil and Power recently spoke to Ricardo Costa Pereira, President of the Mozambican Renewable Energy Association (AMER), about the primary renewable projects currently in progress in Mozambique. Pereira gives insight into how renewables can contribute to off-grid solutions and overall government electrification objectives. Despite the impact of COVID-19, the renewable sector in Mozambique has not seen a decline in investment interest, but rather a progression in development and expansion. Through an informed discussion, Pereira explains AMER’s involvement in the Equal by 30 initiative and his hopes for the Mozambique Oil and Power 2021 event.
