Guinea-Conakry, Gewan Africa Sign MoU to Relaunch National Airline
Share This Article
The Guinean Civil Aviation Authority (AGAC) and investment firm Gewan Africa have signed a memorandum of understanding to revive the national airline Air Guinée.
The agreement outlines cooperation between the two parties to establish and develop air transport services in Guinea-Conakry. In addition to operating air routes, the partnership includes training local personnel, exchanging knowledge and sharing best practices in the aviation sector.
The Ministry of Transport indicated that the relaunch of Air Guinée is part of a broader effort to restore a national carrier as a symbol of sovereignty and an economic growth lever.
This initiative supports wider reforms underway in the aviation sector, including the ongoing expansion of Ahmed Sékou Touré International Airport in Conakry and the planned reconstruction of four regional airfields. These upgrades aim to improve both domestic and international connectivity.
