Canada’s Giyani Metals has initiated a C$3 million private placement to advance its flagship K.Hill battery-grade manganese project in Botswana.
The funds will support general working capital and finance the construction of a demonstration plant aimed at producing high-purity manganese sulphate monohydrate by Q3 2025. Insights from the demo plant will inform the design and engineering of the main processing facility. A definitive feasibility study for the mine is expected by Q1 2026.
“We are pleased with the support shown thus far by new and existing investors, which reflects confidence in our long-term strategy to deliver sustainable, low-carbon high-purity battery grade manganese products for the EV and ESS industries,” stated Charles FitzRoy, President and CEO, Giyani Metals.
The company is also engaged in discussions with potential offtakers. Last month, the U.S. Export–Import Bank expressed interest in funding the project with a $225 million loan.
