Egypt’s Ganoub El Wadi Petroleum Holding Company (Ganope) and Russia’s Lukoil have signed an oil exploration and production concession agreement for the country’s Eastern Desert.
Under the agreement, Ganope and Lukoil will conduct a 3D seismic survey spanning an area of 200 km2 and drill six exploration wells in the South Wadi El Sahl block.
The rights to operate the block were won by Lukoil in April, with the new concessions situated adjacent to the company’s existing West Esh El Mallaha oil field.
