Gabon to Allocate $197M to Infrastructure Projects
Share This Article
Gabon will allocate approximately $197 million to infrastructure development in 2025, representing 63.5% of its projected $312 million in project-related loans for the year. This marks an increase from the $81 million budgeted for 2024—up 144.3%—as the country accelerates efforts to improve road networks, public buildings and transport systems.
Road infrastructure will receive the largest share of the funding, with major investments planned for the rehabilitation and construction of 166 km of the Kougouleu–Medouneu road, including drainage and signage works. The building and public works sector will benefit from projects such as flyovers, footbridges, a metal bridge at Ebel-Abanga and various urban infrastructure programs.
Most of the funding will be sourced from eight international financial institutions including Standard Chartered Bank ($115 million), the African Development Bank ($47 million), the World Bank ($47 million) and Deutsche Bank ($41 million), among others. Additional funding will come from the French Development Agency and the Development Bank of Central African States.
