France has committed €229 million to finance 14 development projects in the Republic of Congo, with a focus on infrastructure, human capital, environmental sustainability and agricultural recovery.

Announced during a review session of France’s Debt Reduction-Development Contract in July 2025, the funds will support the projects as well as two capacity-building study funds.

“We are here to demonstrate the impact of our joint efforts, to show both the French and Congolese people that results are being delivered,” stated Claire Bodonyi, French Ambassador to Congo.

Three projects have been completed, including a rainwater drainage system in Brazzaville, a social worker training program and the development of social protection services. One of two capacity-building study funds has also been finalized.

The remaining projects, scheduled for completion between 2025 and 2027, include key investments such as the revitalization of Brazzaville’s riverside corniche, the Northern Congo Forest landscape restoration program, support for the agricultural sector, upgrades to CHU-B hospital infrastructure and expansion of higher education and training networks.
