Australian company Desoto Resources has secured an exploration permit from Guinea’s Ministry of Mines and Geology to begin work at the Syncerus Gold Project. The permit marks a milestone in Desoto Resources’ goal of identifying over two million ounces of gold.
The exploration project will enable the design of either a reverse circulation or diamond drilling technique program, which the firm previously used in the discovery of its 5.5-million-ounce Bankan Project in Guinea. The Syncerus Mine is situated just 5km away from Desoto Resources’ Dabidiana gold discovery.
According to the company, reconnaissance field work will commence immediately on both the Syncerus and Dabidiana permits. An environmental survey has already been completed for the prefecture which have been lodged with Guinea’s Environmental Assessment Agency.
Desoto Resources will also launch power auger drilling and rock sampling at its Dadjan, Tole, Timbakouna, Moiko, Alamankono, Falama, Oromo and Dabidiana prospects in Guinea.
