Integrated energy company Eni has concluded drilling operations at the Zohr 6 well in Egypt’s Zohr gas field, located offshore in the Mediterranean Sea. The drilling operations have added 60 million cubic feet per day to Egypt’s natural gas production.
The drilling was conducted using the Saipem 10000 drillship, which arrived in Egypt on January 28, 2025, to support development activities at the field. Having completed operations at Zohr 6, the drillship is now preparing to commence drilling at the Zohr 13 well as part of Eni’s ongoing development program at the site.
Operated by Eni, the Zohr field is one of the largest gas discoveries in the Mediterranean and a cornerstone of Egypt’s domestic gas strategy.
