State-owned energy firm the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) has launched an international bid round for 12 exploration blocks.
EGAS is offering 10 offshore and two onshore blocks in the Mediterranean and Nile Delta regions, with the deadline for bid submissions due by February 25, 2025.
The bid round is part of Egypt‘s broader strategy to achieve new discoveries and boost oil and natural gas production to drive the global energy mix, according to Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Eng. Karim Badawi.
The licensing round is the eighth launched via the Egyptian Upstream Gateway since the introduction of the digital platform in 2021.
