The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) has signed an agreement with energy infrastructure firm Höegh Evi for the supply of a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU).
Under the 10-year supply agreement Höegh Evi will deploy its Hoegh Gandria vessel to the Port of Sumed in Q4 2026. The new vessel will replace the Hoegh Galleon vessel, which has been stationed in Egypt since July 2024.
The new FSRU will provide up to 1,000 million standard cubic feet per day of peak LNG regasification capacity, enhancing Egypt’s energy security and diversifying its natural gas supply mix.
