Mining company Aura Energy aims to finalize a mine development decision for the Tiris uranium project in Mauritania by Q1 2025. The mine is expected to commence production in 2026.
To meet this target, the company has appointed mine management company Project EQ to lead project development and mineral consultancy firm Kenmore Mine Consulting to complete a mine plan optimization. Consultancy company Knight Piésold Consulting has been selected to conduct water resource drilling in the broader Taoudeni basin.
“On many fronts, the project development is rapidly advancing, with a number of these workstreams having significant potential to add value to Tiris and we look forward to keeping shareholders and stakeholders informed regarding Aura’s progress,” stated Aura Energy’s Managing Director and CEO Andrew Grove.
Following the completion of a FEED study and drilling campaign earlier this year, the Tiris project saw a 55% increase in mineral resources, now totaling 91.3 million pounds of uranium ore.
