Congo Secures AfDB Funding for Hydropower Feasibility Studies
Share This Article
The Republic of Congo has obtained funding from the African Development Bank (AfDB) to conduct feasibility studies for hydropower projects at Mbandza Ndounga and Linzolo. The financing comes from the Middle-Income Country Technical Assistance Fund, administered by the AfDB.
The Mbandza Ndounga site, located in the southern part of the country, is designated for immediate study. The Linzolo site, approximately 20 km south of Brazzaville, is included conditionally. The studies will involve detailed design assessments to determine the viability of constructing hydroelectric facilities at these locations.
By exploring Mbandza Ndounga and Linzolo, the government aims to identify opportunities to bolster the national grid and support economic development through improved energy access.
