Mining company Kore Potash has finalized an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with engineering company PowerChina International Group for the construction of the Kola potash project in the Republic of Congo.
The contract will involve the construction of transportation links and utility pipelines for the 2.2-million-ton-per-year project.
Set to reduce Kore Potash’s reliance on state infrastructure, the construction period for the contract is estimated at 43 months. With an estimated life-of-mine of 33 years, the Kola project is scheduled to deliver first potash production in the first half of 2029.
