The China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) Rossing Uranium Mine has committed to advancing technology and increasing long-term investment in Namibia’s mining industry.

“We aim to strengthen cooperation, broaden our collaboration, and make substantial contributions to Namibia’s economic and social development,” said CNCC Chairperson Junli Chen.

Operational for 48 years, the Rossing Uranium Mine is the world’s largest and longest-operating open-pit uranium mine. CNNC acquired majority ownership of the Rossing Uranium Mine from Anglo-Australian mining firm Rio Tinto in 2019.
