Energy service company BW Offshore and its exploration partner BW Energy have successfully handed over operations and maintenance (O&M) of the FPSO BW Adolo to the latter’s Gabonese subsidiary BW Energy Gabon SA.
Under an amended contract, BW Energy will retain ownership of the FPSO under a bareboat charter, continuing to lease the unit to BW Energy Gabon on existing terms, excluding O&M services. The FPSO produces oil on the offshore Dussafu Marin license.
“Assuming full O&M responsibility will allow BW Energy Gabon to optimize field performance and capture additional synergies across the Dussafu hub,” stated Carl K. Arnet, CEO, BW Energy.
The agreement includes a mutual put-and-call option for the FPSO valued at $100 million, exercisable in 2028. Both companies will collaborate through June 30, 2025, to ensure a safe, uninterrupted transition.
