AOG 2025 Pre-Conference to Spotlight Next-Gen Oilfield Technologies
Share This Article
Angola Oil & Gas (AOG) will once again host a dedicated technical pre-conference, providing in-depth insights into critical aspects of Angola’s energy landscape. The sessions are set to explore a wide range of topics, from oilfield maintenance and capital raising to seismic acquisition and the adoption of next-generation technologies.
Among the highlights of the pre-conference agenda, Angola’s downstream regulator the Petroleum Derivatives Regulatory Institute (IRDP) will host a workshop on Investment Opportunities in Angola’s Downstream Sector. The workshop will offer an in-depth look at the structure and dynamics of the oil derivatives market, including the characterization of key segments, ongoing decentralization efforts, the transfer of competencies and the implications of the SIMPLIFICA process on the sector’s regulatory and operational landscape. The IRDP will also outline its key initiatives to support growth and ensure compliance. Nelson de Carvalho, Head of Commercial Relations, Tariffs and Prices at the IRDP, will lead the discussion.
Kaeso Energy Services will host a session focused on BiSN’s wel-lok™ bismuth alloy plug technology – an innovative, rigless solution for well integrity and permanent abandonment. Successfully deployed in Angola to shut off water production in challenging wells, the tool has demonstrated its ability to increase oil output while minimizing the need for expensive remedial operations. The presentation, led by Kaeso Energy Services’ General Manager Jorge de Morais and Operations Director Landry Pouna, will target operators, engineers and technical decision-makers, showcasing how this technology improves well integrity, reduces costs, and supports more environmentally responsible operations.
Rounding out the agenda, Sistran will present a workshop on Fueling the Future: Next-Generation Automation in Oil & Gas, offering a deep dive into the digital technologies set to reshape the sector. The session will explore practical pathways for integrating automation tools, digital twin models, smart control room systems and advanced monitoring solutions, all aimed at reducing complexity, optimizing production throughput and lowering operational expenditure. The evolving skillsets required within Angola’s workforce to support these advancements will also be discussed. Aarti Dange, Director of Customer Experience at Emerson, will lead the session.
AOG is the largest oil and gas event in Angola. Taking place with the full support of the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas; the National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency; the Petroleum Derivatives Regulatory Institute; national oil company Sonangol; and the African Energy Chamber; the event is a platform to sign deals and advance Angola’s oil and gas industry.
