AOG 2025 On Stage Interviews to Explore Billion-Dollar Project Portfolios

The Angola Oil & Gas (AOG) will once again host a series of on-stage interviews, aimed at providing unique insight into the investment portfolios, large-scale projects and future expansion strategies of some of the country’s biggest oil and gas companies. The ‘In-Conversation With’ sessions are geared towards facilitating collaboration and deals as they provide a comprehensive overview of Angola’s oil and gas sector.

Angola’s Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas Diamantino Azevedo will take part in an exclusive fireside chat during the main conference agenda. The discussion will explore the country’s industry goals, from scaling-up crude production to diversifying the industry through gas to recent policy reforms and the impact of global industry trends.

Angola’s upstream concessionaire the National Oil, Gas & Biofuels Agency (ANPG) will participate in an exclusive on-stage interview. The session will provide clarity into recent regulatory enactments and their impact on the market. These include the Incremental Production Initiative – introduced in 2024 – and its role in maximizing output at ageing oilfields. The discussion will also shed light on the country’s multi-year licensing strategy and the road ahead, offering investors fresh perspectives into Angola’s investment market. Paulino Jerónimo, President of ANPG, will lead the discussion.

The country’s national oil company Sonangol – in the midst of a partial privatization process that will make 30% of its share’s public – is pursuing an ambitious growth strategy in the country, targeting new exploration projects and strengthened refining capacity. The company is transforming itself into a competitive operator through new investments and collaboration with international partners. Sonangol will engage in an ‘In-Conversation With’ session during this year’s AOG conference.

Angola’s largest private oil company Etu Energias is targeting 80,000 barrels per day (bpd) in production by 2030. The company has been gradually increasing its portfolio of operated and non-operated blocks, with views to increase its reserves to 387 million barrels by 2030. Etu Energias’ CEO Edson dos Santos is participating in an on-stage interviewing during AOG 2025, where he is expected to give an update on block developments and future investments.  

TotalEnergies is developing a multi-energy strategy in Angola, encompassing projects in oil, gas and green hydrogen. The company started production at the Begonia and CLOV Phase 3 Developments in July 2025, adding 60,000 bpd to the market, and is advancing the Kaminho Deepwater Development and exploration activities. Martin Deffontaines, Country Manager, TotalEnergies Angola, will offer insights into these projects during an on-stage interview at AOG 2025. 

Eyeing expanded gas production, Chevron is making strides towards boosting Angola’s LNG exports. The company started operations at the Sanha Lean Gas Connection Project in 2024, is currently developing Angola’s first non-associated gas project through the New Gas Consortium (NGC) and is expanding its presence in deepwater oil basins. During AOG 2025, Frank Cassulo, Managing Director, Southern Africa Strategic Business Unit, Chevron, will provide an update on these projects.

Azule Energy – Angola’s largest independent equity producer of oil and gas – targets 250,000 bpd through the development of offshore oil projects. The company is preparing to start operations at the Agogo FPSO in 2025, introducing 120,000 bpd to the market, as well as the NGC project in 2026. Adriano Mongini, CEO of Azule Energy will share insights into the company’s production strategy during AOG 2025.  

ExxonMobil is maximizing output at Angola’s legacy fields through reinvestments and license extensions. The company signed an amended PSC for Block 17 in 2025 as well as a deal to further evaluate the Free Areas of Angolan deepwater Blocks 17/06 and 32/21. At AOG 2025, Katrina Fisher, Country Manager, ExxonMobil Angola, will outline how ExxonMobil is supporting Angolan production growth.

Engineering and technology company Oceaneering offers a range of solutions that support Angola’s offshore oil and gas projects. The company has a strong track record in Angola, with services driven by its multiple, state-of-the-art facilities in Luada and Cabinda. Earl Childress, CCO and SVP – Business Development, Oceaneering, will unpack the role the company plays as a partner for Angolan upstream operators.

 

AOG is the largest oil and gas event in Angola.
