The Agogo Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel has arrived in Angola’s waters, the country’s upstream regulator the National Oil, Gas & Biofuels Agency (ANPG) announced. Completed six months ahead of schedule, the vessel will begin operations in the second half of 2025.

The Agogo FPSO will be situated at the Agogo Integrated West Hub Development in Block 15/06, complementing the operational Ngoma FPSO at the site. The vessel is expected to increase the block’s production by 120,000 barrels per day and features a combined cycle power generation unit; advanced electrification and digital automation; a seawater-driven turbine generator; and a vapor recovery unit to eliminate flaring.

“The arrival of the FPSO Agogo in Angola is of significant value, as it represents the completion of the project, the first modules of which were installed last year. There were several challenging stages throughout the project, but it is also a demonstration of the right partnerships and the determination of our human capital. In terms of local content, part of the structure was manufactured in our country’s shipyards,” stated Paulino Jerónimo, Chairman of the Board of Directors, ANPG.

The Ngoma and Agogo vessels will monetize hydrocarbon resources from the Agogo and Ndungu fields in Block 15/06. Block partners includes international energy company Azule Energy as operator, Angola’s national oil company (NOC) Sonangol E&P and Chinese oil and gas firm Sinopec .

“Angola’s energy sector thrives on partnerships. The completion of the FPSO Agogo, several months ahead of schedule, highlights Azule Energy’s project execution capabilities and the excellent synergy between all parties involved,” stated Adriano Mongini, CEO of Azule Energy.
