Angolan upstream firm ACREP plans to begin oil exploration in the onshore Cabinda Norte Block in Angola in 2025. The aim is to identify and unlock the economic viability of the block.
ACREP will conduct feasibility studies to evaluate the potential production capacity of the block post exploration.
Up to 20 wells have been previously drilled at the block since 1968, with bureaucratic challenges delaying their development.
ACREP’s Operations Director Idónio dos Santos said that these challenges have been addressed and the requisite roads and infrastructure re-opened.
